The Launch Place is the lead entity for entrepreneurial development in Southern Virginia headquartered in Danville, Virginia and with an office at First Flight Venture Center in the Research Triangle Park. Their mission is to recruit, retain and develop entrepreneurs with innovative ideas. The Launch Place is creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem, by providing valuable services to start-ups through two investment funds (pre-seed and seed), business planning and consulting services, office and residential subsidy programs and training and mentoring initiatives. rnrnThe entrepreneurs also have access to a wide network of emerging start-ups through established programs. The overarching objective of the entrepreneurship development program is to allow an entrepreneur to focus on the primary activities associated with the development of the startup by providing the necessary resources for the easy management of the secondary activities. rnrnAwarded a $10 million grant from the Danville Regional Foundation in July 2013, The Launch Place increased its capacity to offer business consulting services and expanded to include entrepreneurship recruitment, development and retention resources and assistance, including seed investments. Founded in 2005 as a 501 (C) 3 nonprofit organization, The Launch Place strives to energize and diversify Southern Virginia’s regional economy through entrepreneurship development and business consulting services.
